But the truth comes down in riddles
That are safe enough to share

— S. J. Tucker, Cheshire Kitten (We're All Mad Here)

So I’ve got a story to tell. It’s an old one, as old as humanity itself. And sure enough it’s being told since ancient times — through myths, through poetry, through the words of prophets and philosophers. It’s still being told this way, metaphorically… “in riddles that are safe enough to share”.

Here I’m trying to tell it in plain words. After all, this story has always been about understanding — how we do it, and how we don’t. Besides, as far as I can tell, no one else managed to piece together the whole puzzle.

Unfortunately, no one can be *told* the truth -- you’d have to see it for yourself.
